Entretiene las tediosas tardes de turno de guardia repasando su particular argumentario en forma de larga colección de microrrelatos de abogados dispuestos a litigar o justo lo contrario. Los lee por orden correlativo, inspirándose así para crear el siguiente. Se entusiasma con cada uno ellos y eso a pesar de que todos siguen inéditos. No pierde la esperanza. Presiente que algún día le llegará la gloria defendiendo el caso de su vida, el que sentará un nuevo precedente jurídico y le hará saltar a los periódicos. Entonces los colegas dejarán de considerarle un mentecato fracasado. Y varias editoriales de postín se disputarán el preciado manuscrito de historias hechas sin premura, mes a mes.

This is Auffret’s own personally designed movement, with a low frequency (2.5Hz) for a longer 50-hour power reserve. The finger bridges for the tourbillon link and barrel on the earlier examples of the Tourbillon a Paris were full, but here, they’re thoughtfully skeletonized. This probably reduces legibility for the regulator (less space for the hand to contrast against) but celebrates his finishing and design work.
For this story, I spoke with a large sampling of watch lovers, link most of whom confessed that no other watch brand came close to being a legitimate rival in the rainbow-colored playing field. The Daytona ref. 116598RBOW and ref. 116599RBOW kick-started the rainbow wave back in 2012, and Rainbow Mania became even more widespread with the 2018 release of ref. 116595RBOW in Everose gold. The glitz and glam of this watch has grabbed everyone from Miley Cyrus to John Mayer.
