Aquel día se levantó temprano. Sabía que el 21 de diciembre de 2016 no iba a ser cualquier día. Se había vacunado contra la decepción; quería creer que su reciente tatuaje, una pequeña balanza, apenas perceptible, en su antebrazo hoy sí se pondría de su lado. Su batalla contra Goliat apenas había comenzado. Se “calzó” sus puñetas y esperó paciente a que la noticia llegara. A eso de las 11, ya todo el mundo sabía que la sentencia del Supremo tenía plazo de caducidad. Justo ese día. Los consumidores (o la justicia) habían ganado el asalto a los bancos. Pasó a saludar al presidente de la Audiencia que como ella esperaba ansioso. Luego se fue a repartir las cestas de Navidad entre sus clientes. Hoy pagaba la banca.

You might recall from our follow-up story that Zach (@zachattack__25) link ended up purchasing the watch for his final bid plus the commission – an approximate total of $6.2 million. At the time, Phillips confirmed to me that the original sum of $6.5 million sum would still be paid to The Nature Conservancy. Banks and TNC confirmed, once again, that the total figure they received from the auction was the original $6.5 million – and not a penny less.
With my knowledge of watches stuck in the late 1800s and early 1900s, I became curious about what had happened to the watch industry since then. Another quick Google search link led me to a website called Hodinkee, and I was hit with an overwhelming deluge of information.
