EL VALOR DE LA INSISTENCIA

Caducidad de la acción, falta de legitimación pasiva, inadecuación de procedimiento, abuso de derecho, inexistencia de pruebas… Ninguna de mis alegaciones funcionó. Lo supe al ver que Su Señoría agitaba las manos bajo las puñetas en señal de impaciencia mientras yo exponía mis conclusiones con vehemencia. Mi primer juicio importante acabó con otra decepción en la cesta de los fracasos. Había trabajado tanto, lo había preparado tan bien… La abogacía no debía de ser lo mío. Hubiera colgado la toga allí mismo y para siempre de no haberse acercado a mí el experto y reputado letrado contrario:
– Enhorabuena, compañero
– ¿Perdón?, farfullé
– Me lo has puesto difícil. Envidio tu entusiasmo, insistencia y determinación. Eres bueno.
Tiempo después acepté la propuesta de unirme a su prestigioso bufete. Aún sonrío cada vez que me pregunta por el tatuaje que llevo desde el día en que le conocí: “Soporta y persiste”.
