LA AMENAZA
Yolanda Nava Miguélez Algo se mueve entre los cartones. Amanece. La luz de abril es transparente y limpia. Espera con la botella cogida por el cuello, expectante. Hace un par de noches le arrebataron su libro de leyes. Lo siguiente puede ser la vida. Los cartones siguen moviéndose. Se prepara. Pero la supuesta amenaza tiene la boca teñida de rojo fresa y en la mano sujeta el palo de la piruleta que ha desayunado. Un instante preñado de silencio, gemelo a esos que preceden los grandes actos de la humanidad en los que una numerosa concurrencia calla en señal de respeto, los envolvió. Comprendió que debía actualizarse y volver. A los madrugones, a los cafés cargados y a su toga; y comprar otro libro de leyes nuevo, aunque las leyes fuesen viejas, para luchar por vaciar las calles de niños así, con las bocas huérfanas de risa y los ojos llenos de tristeza.

Me duele la imagen final que cierra el micro: «las bocas huérfanas de risa y los ojos llenos de tristeza». Aunque creo que tu abogado lo conseguirá solucionar.

And Chopard has me intrigued by the new curved «bassine» shape case, where the base, or portion nearest the caseback, is narrower than the domed polished link bezel. While it seems like something I would have to see in the metal to really get my head around, I typically prefer this general shape in modern watches. All in all, these are expensive watches within Chopard’s most premium collection, but I see a ton of value for the right collector and truly well-considered changes throughout both models.
The bi-directional ceramic bezel insert is black, but is half polished and half micro-blasted. This makes it appear as two different colors, with the appearance of each half changing depending on the light and angle. It’s a cool effect I didn’t appreciate in the initial renders of the Zulu Time. The white numerals feel a bit mismatched against the dial’s gilt accents, leaving the watch caught between its link heritage inspiration and modern execution.
