Solo era cuestión de actualizar las normas adaptándolas a las necesidades de una sociedad cada vez más corrupta y desigual. Unos tras otros se iban sucediendo los escándalos, sacando a la luz los compartimientos reprochables de aquellos que, por su posición social, debían ser ejemplo para el resto. Pero aquella inmunidad había llegado a su fin; y esta vez sin trampa ni cartón. Muchos habían decidido confesar; entre ellos mi cliente. Una posible reducción de la condena hacía atractivo ese cambio de actitud. No había vuelta atrás. Aquella mañana la concurrencia de los procesados despertaba un gran interés. Los medios de comunicación se encontraban hacinados a las puertas del juzgado. Mi cliente caminaba cabizbajo junto a mí; abogado de oficio. Con todo lo que había conseguido…y no podía permitirse ni una triste piruleta.
