Cuando accedí a llevar este caso, sabía que entraba en una zona de arenas movedizas, en el que había que actuar con suma cautela, donde no iba a ser suficiente con investigar la causa para llegar hasta el final del asunto.
Un caso perdido, sin honorarios, que pondría a prueba los fundamentos por los que me aventuraba en el mundo de la abogacía y por los que me prometía a mí mismo defender la verdad y lo justo, más allá de un mero ideal. No importaba cuántas fronteras, lindes u obstáculos habría de traspasar para ello. Mi integridad profesional y humana no podían quebrantarse.
Tenía licencia para llegar hasta el final de quien en ese momento ostentaba la autoridad.
Las pruebas encima de la mesa, dos acusadas y un culpable, sobre el que debía caer toda responsabilidad.
“Mamá, mis hermanas son inocentes; Papa acabó anoche con el helado de vainilla”.
