Desperté. Tenía completamente seco el gaznate, la nuez de mi garganta me raspaba como una espina de pescado a cualquier sonido gutural que hiciese. Entré al baño y me sequé el sudor frío de mi frente con una toalla. Intenté abrir la llave del grifo.
Nada.
Entré de nuevo en la habitación. Todo estaba en su sitio: el ordenador, el teléfono… Pero, ¿y la carpeta del caso? Miré el reloj, el juicio era en menos de dos horas. Mi predecesor me advirtió de la posibilidad de que me ocurriese algún incidente.
-Es un tema complicado, demasiados intereses Carlos, probablemente sea tu último caso como abogado.
Sus palabras me martilleaban la cabeza y por más que me esforzaba en recordar, no sabía lo que había pasado. Antes de volver a desmayarme, un dolor terrible de espalda me hizo caer de bruces contra el suelo.
