El funcionario se carcajeaba. Recién en mi celda, tras colocar mi neceser en el baño, había preguntado mi nombre. Al contestarlo recibí una descarga eléctrica desde un dispositivo de hierro en el techo que había creído un aspersor contra incendios. Debían de gastar la misma broma a cada primerizo. Sentí calor, el pecho percutido por miles de alfileres. Había desafiado al poder en un artículo periodístico. “Se condena al encausado a tres años de prisión. Perteneciendo su delito a los que persiguen la notoriedad del autor, se le condena igualmente a la desaparición temporal de su identidad personal. Nombre y apellidos serán eliminados de todo archivo y sustituidos por una referencia numérica. Queda prohibido su uso por toda persona, reo incluido. Se adoptarán medidas al respecto”, rezaba mi sentencia. Luego volví a pronunciar mi nombre en sueños: otra descarga. Desperté. Y al saber todo pesadilla, amé mi profesión de abogado.
