No puedo borrar de mi memoria esa visión panorámica de la sala. En ella veo a un jurado decidido e impaciente por terminar el juicio, a un juez desesperado apremiándote a que procedas con tu alegato, la sala completa mirándote, tú dejando el tiempo correr, como esperando que se produjese un eclipse, un terremoto, cualquier milagro que evitase tu intervención.
Nadie daba un duro por ti, y tú no pudiste ser más gráfico al adoptar la apariencia de un púgil derrotado. Y claro, perdiste, porque la vida es cuestión de actitud. Como yo, que no he parado hasta escapar de la cárcel para recordarte aquello que me dijiste nada más levantarte. ¿Cómo era? ¿Alea jacta est?
